Používáte HTPC jako Set Top Box?

V ložnici mám starší 82″ CRT Televizi, která bohužel neumí příjmat DVB-T. Koupil jsem si STB s vestavšným HdD, ale nevyhovoval mi ovládací systém. Protože již dlouho uvažuji o stavbě media centra, rozhodl jsem se konat. STB jsem prodal a pokouším se nahradit jej HTPC strojem.
Pročetl jsem si spoustu fór a článků, kde se ale primárně řeší HW. Objednal jsem tedy desku Zotac IONITX AE, 2GB Ram, 320GB 2,5″ HDD, Case a dálkový ovladač. Protože jsem potřeboval nahradit také STB, koupil jsem i US TV Tuner Aver Volar A850.
Protože ale deska přijde až příští týden, rozhodl jsem se hledat info ohledně ovládání HTPC, jeho systému. Moc se mi nechce platit za Win, ale Linux nemá oficiální ovladače TV karty, tak jsem se koukal a licence Win XP se dá pořídit za 3 stovky. Předpokládám, že OS tedy bude WinXP. Předpokládal jsem, že na stroji bude XBMC, ale po nainstalování jsem zjistil, že zde nemám hledat podporu TV, takže pravděpodobně Mediaportal.

Mám někde něco špatně nastaveno?
